Oracle sqlplus command line tools does not support command line editing out-of-the-box. But on Linux there's a handy utility that enables command line editing with any command line tool: rlwrap - readline wrapper.
Install rlwrap:
$ sudo apt-get install rlwrap
Create a keywords file .sql.dict (optional, but convenient):
false null true
access add as asc begin by chec...
It would be nice to add the tables names also.
Create an alias for sqlplus (put it in .bashrc ):
alias sqlplus='rlwrap -f $HOME/.sql.dict sqlplus'

This is the error message:
Error 6 initializing SQL*Plus
SP2-0667: Message...
It might be that the ORACLE_HOME environment variable is not properly set or a missing sp1<lang>.msb (for example sp1us.msb ) file. But for my Ubuntu system, there was no such thing as sp1<lang>.msb , and it wasn't caused by a missing ORACLE_HOME . The error was resolved after I restored the shared library file libsqlplusic.so .

These are the steps to install the Oracle sqlplus command line utility on Ubuntu Linux:
Get Oracle instant client packages from Oracle (you'll need basic or basiclite + sqlplus).
Install the RPM files with alien :
$ sudo alien -i oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11....
Install Oracle shared libraries: create file /etc/ld.so.conf.d/oracle.conf and add this line:
/usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client/lib
then run
sudo ldconfig

Step 1: Repackage a web app as EAR A Java EE application is a multimodule Maven project. At the very least you'll need to package a WAR and an EAR. To get started, I'll simply re-package the simple webapp as an EAR. Create a directory named javaee-app Copy the webapp from here to javaee-app . Rename struts1app to webapp . Create pom.xml under javaee-app :
<project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>... Create a directory named ear under javaee-app . Create pom.xml under ear : <project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion>... Modify pom.xml in the webapp directory so that it looks like this: <project> <modelVersion>4.0.0</modelVersion> ... Build with " mvn package " in the javaee-app directory. You can see that ear-1.0.ear is successfully generated in javaee-app/ear/target . Maven successfully resolves dependencies between the sub-projects....

This is a utility to generate SQL insert statements for Oracle for one table, or a set of tables. It doesn't cover all possibilities but should be good enough for most cases.
import java.io.*;
import java.sql.*;
import ...
To generate insert statements for multiple tables, simply put the table names in a file, one per line, and use the -f switch.

From Oracle doc:
DBA_FREE_SPACE describes the free extents in all tablespaces in the database.
Note that if a datafile (or entire tablespace) is offline in a locally managed tablespace, you will not see any extent information. If an object has extents in an online file of the tablespace, you will see extent information about the offline datafile. However, if the object is entirely in the offline file, a query of this view will not return any records.
SQL> select tablespace_name, count(*) free_extends...

In sqlnet.ora , there's a parameter named NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN that usually contains the value world . If you remove this parameter then you don't need to append .world . My sqlnet.ora contains three lines:
# sqlnet.ora Network Configuration File: C:\wo...
To force a lookup without NAMES.DEFAULT_DOMAIN appended, append a dot to the tnsname:
tnsping unqualified_tnsname_name.
