This works for Tomcat. It may or may not work for other servlet containers. As far as I know it's not in the standards spec.
In web.xml:

If you start Tomcat without defining env , then #{initParam['env']} is ${env} . If you start Tomcat with -Denv=dev in JAVA_OPTS , then #{initParam['env']} is dev

Alfresco community-4.0.b has only 64-bit installer for Linux. These are the steps to manually install it on 32-bit Ubuntu Linux. Download alfresco-community-4.0.b.zip from http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Download_and_Install_Alfresco . Install dependencies:

VMWare Tools must be installed in the guest OS for shared folders to work.
Configure the shared folder: Virtual Machine -> Virtual Machine Settings -> Options -> Shared Folders . Click the Add button to add a share. The share maps a host path to a name in the guest.
If the guest system is Linux, the shared folder is available under /mnt/hgfs .
If the guest system is Windows, the shared folder is available as \\.host\Shared Folders\<share_name>

This is an HTML image tag filter using Java regex. It takes a string, finds the img tags, replaces the src attribute with one provided by the filter, then adds a class name to the class attribute.

Maven repositories are a central part of the Maven build system. Maven resolves dependencies through repositories. There are two types of repositories: local and remote . The local repository stores local build artifacts (when you do mvn install ) and caches artifacts from remote repositories. It is usually located on the local file system at $USER_HOME/.m2/repository . Remote repositories are located on the network and accessed by URLs ( http:// or file:// etc). The central Maven repository is: repo1.maven.org . The Java EE repositories are located at: http://download.java.net/maven/2/ and http://download.java.net/maven/1/ . Remote repositories can also be set up on the company intranet within a company's firewall. The central repository is automatically configured after installation. Linux distros come with PPTP client bundled. This is how to configure Linux as PPTP client:
Click System->Preferences->Network Connections:
Select the VPN tab, click Add :
Select PPTP from the list and click Create... :
To connecto to the PPTP VPN: click the Network icon on the launch Panel and select the VPN name just created.

There's no UI for setting proxy for Android browser. You set a proxy by directly manipulating the settings db:
$ android-sdk-linux_86/platform-tools/adb shell
...
where wifi_http_proxy is the proxy host name and wifi_http_proxy is the proxy port number.
