Experts may disagree but I found it absolutely stunning that JSF EL does not provide an operator for string concatenation. The Java "+" operator is there for the take. Java, which is a strongly typed compiled language, overloads the "+" operator in such a way that any object can be concatenated with a string. But JSF EL, which definitely isn't as strongly typed as Java, restricts the "+" operator to numerical values only! Of course, experts may argue that the "+" operator overloading is a huge design flaw of the Java language. But even so, JSF EL is not the right place to fix it! In some cases, a concatenation operator isn't needed, for example:
<ui:repeat var="tab" value="#{tabs}"> <img ... But in case the concatenated...

The @ operator suppresses error messages.
A usual example is:
<?php
$v = @$a['non-existing-key'];
?>
which suppresses the "undefined index" PHP notice.
Another example is:
<?php
@include('non_existent_file');
?>
In this case, @ not only suppresses error messages for non-existing file, it also suppresses any error messages coming from the included file when it does exist.
Create file test.php :
<?php
@include('test.inc');
?>
Create test.inc :
<?php
<?php
garbage
?>
The "undefined constant" PHP notice message is suppressed by @ .

When you create a new key with Java keytool , it wraps the public key in a self signed certificate. You can generate a certificate signing request with the keytool -certreq command. After a certificate authority (CA) signs the certificate request, you can import the certificate received (a .crt file) back into the key store. Instead of using a CA, you can sign the certificate request with another key (with openssl, for example). If the certificate is not signed by a CA, you'll receive an error:
$ keytool -import -alias android-root -file androi... To fix the problem, import the certificate of the signer: $ keytool -import -trustcacerts -file openssl.crt ... Import the certificate again (alias is the alias of the private key whose certificate was...

You get this error message when you try to install an Android APK. Most likely, the APK you are trying to install declared sharedUserId , but there's an existing package with the same sharedUserId , which was signed with a different key than the package being installed.

I got "Unknown SSL protocol error" when using curl to get the default page from iis 7 (of course, IE simply displayed "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"). The problem was that I used the default iis 7 certificate, which didn't have a name - and that caused SSL to fail. I created a new certificate with a name and that fixed the problem.
# curl -v -k --dump-header - https://192.168.80.15...

I tried to convert a private key from PEM to PKCS12 with OpenSSL and got this error:
C:\myworks>openssl pkcs12 -export -in openssl_ca3....
The problem was that the -in parameter expects both private key and certificate in the same input file, i.e., openssl_ca3.pem in the above example. Appending the certificate file to the key fixed the problem:
C:\myworks>cat openssl_ca3.crt >>openssl_ca3.pem

cURL is a command line tool for transferring files with URL syntax. The main purpose and use for cURL is to automate unattended file transfers or sequences of operations.
It's really easy to see HTTP headers with curl:
C:\>curl --head http://www.google.com
HTTP/1.0 ...
or, headers and page together (dump headers to stdout):
$ curl --dump-header - http://www.google.com HTTP/...
Download openssl from openssl.org:
curl http://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-0.9.6m....
C:\>curl --help
Usage: curl [options...] <url>

IE uses Notepad as the default editor when you select "View Source" from a web page. You can change it to your favorite editor by adding a couple of keys to the registry: Start regedit Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\ Add key View Source Editor Under View Source Editor , add key Editor Name Change the default string value to the full path of your favorite editor. The following is the registry entry for vim (full tip for vim is available from the vim wiki ):
