This example came from the jQuery validation documentation. The required rule can be used to validate a required selection box when you set the value of the first option to empty. <!DOCTYPE HTML> <html> <head> <scrip... The error message is the title since no error message is specified. A more fully defined validation check would look like this: $('#my-form').validate({ errorElement: "p", ...

There are two ways to validate a form with JSF: jsf validation on the page with <f:validate...> tags (for example: <f:validateLength> , <f:validateRegex> , etc.), or JSR303 bean validation. This note is about how to customize messages for JSR303 bean validation. The validation message is specified in the message attribute for each validation annotation type. The mesage attribute is not a literal string, but a string that is interpolated in various ways. For example, the default validation message for AssertFalse is {javax.validation.constraints.AssertFalse.message} , which is replaced with the corresponding string in ValidationMessages.properties (or ValidationMessages_tr.properties , ValidationMessages_es.properties , depending on the locale). This is the contents of ValidationMessages.properties in the hibernate validator reference implementation: javax.validation.constraints.AssertFalse.message =... To customize the messages, just provide the new value in...

In the following HTML code, I attached an inline handler to the text field input and added two event handlers with addEventListener / attachEvent . Both IE and Firefox called the inline handler first. But the order in which the added event handlers were called are different between IE and Firefox (IE calls attached_click2 first). Further, if I add the same event handler multiple times, IE calls the handler the same number of times. But Firefox only calls the same handler once, no matter how many times it was added. <html> <body> <form> Input: <input type="... You can attach an event handler to an HTML element either inline , with JavaScript , or by calling addEventListener (DOM level 2), or attachEvent (IE specific). When you...

This is a test HTML form with almost all kinds of input types. It is weird that both IE and Firefox list the fieldset in the forms[0].elements array as an element with undefined name , type and value . <html> <body> <form name="MyTestForm"> ...

The code presented here is a simple implementation of a tab set. It is used to demo how a tab set could be implemented. The code is stand alone and does not depend on any JavaScript libraries. Multiple tab sets within the same page is supported. The HTML markup is fairly simple: Tabs sets are contained within a DIV element with class name "tabsContainer". Define a UL list for the tabs. Follow the UL list with equal number of DIVs for the tab contents. The Nifty Corners Cube technique is used to draw the rounded corners (original form, not the enhanced JavaScript form). HTML, CSS and JavaScript: <!doctype html> <html> <head> <style typ...

cURL is a command line tool for transferring files with URL syntax. The main purpose and use for cURL is to automate unattended file transfers or sequences of operations. It's really easy to see HTTP headers with curl: C:\>curl --head http://www.google.com HTTP/1.0 ... or, headers and page together (dump headers to stdout): $ curl --dump-header - http://www.google.com HTTP/... Download openssl from openssl.org: curl http://www.openssl.org/source/openssl-0.9.6m.... C:\>curl --help Usage: curl [options...] <url> ...
