My problem is simple: in my XML data, a timestamp is provided as a long integer (number of milliseconds since the "the epoch"). When I do XSLT, I want to display it as a readable string, such as "Mon Nov 01 18:08:48 CDT 2010". After hours of struggle, I found: It's not so easy to get the job done with JDK 1.6 There are tons of garbage on the web in this space (suggestions, code snippets that simply don't work) Simple Xalan extension functions was the only resource that's somewhat informative. Even there some of the examples don't work. Below is a list of what worked and what didn't. This works:

In Android.mk , you can define LOCAL_JARJAR_RULES like this:

and in jarjar-rules.txt define a rule like this:

A task that a Java developer does so frequently is to find out where a certain class can be found - to resolve compilation errors, classpath issues, or version conflicts of the same class introduced by multiple class loaders. GNU cpio copies files into or out of a cpio or tar archive. There are 3 modes:
-o : copy-out mode, copies files into an archive
-i : copy-in mode, copies files out of an archive
-p : copy-pass mode, combines the copy-out and copy-in steps without actually using an archive

If you want to re-encode with compression like x264, Handbrake will do it easily (though it takes about 6 hours at "20" quality on my i7 HTPC). The audio is a little tricky, but with MKVmerge you can just take the stream that MakeMKV gave you and mux it into the video stream Handbrake spat out. Subtitles are tougher because of the way they're done on Blu-Ray, but I find that opensubtitles.org usually has a perfectly-timed SRT file for my rips, most often from a guy called Shoocat. With newer codecs, the text is super-smooth and often looks better than the subtitles on the blu-ray. The only really hellacious problem I've had with moving my Blu-Ray...

This XML signature validator comes from the Apache XML Security project. It validates the signature according to the core validation processing rules .
It does not verify that the key used to generate the signature is a trusted key. You can override the KeySelector class to make sure that the signing key is from a trusted store.

Java SE 6 contains built-in utilities to generate XML signatures. This is an example that generates XML signatures using a Java keystore. It has options to generate signature for the whole document, for an element with a specific ID, or for elements matched by an XPATH expression.
