These bean types are essential for the Spring MVC framework. I copied them here from the Spring Documentation for quick reference. Bean type Explanation HandlerMapping Maps incoming requests to handlers and a list of pre- and post-processors (handler interceptors) based on some criteria the details of which vary by HandlerMapping implementation. The most popular implementation supports annotated controllers but other implementations exists as well. HandlerAdapter Helps the DispatcherServlet to invoke a handler mapped to a request regardless of the handler is actually invoked. For example, invoking an annotated controller requires resolving various annotations. Thus the main purpose of a HandlerAdapter is to shield the DispatcherServlet from such details. HandlerExceptionResolver Maps exceptions to views also allowing for more complex exception handling code. ViewResolver Resolves logical String-based...

The annotation @org.hibernate.annotations.Type overrides the default hibernate mapping type used for a column. This can usually be omitted since Hibernate normaly infers the correct type to use. But @Type is required in ambiguous scenarios such as a java.util.Date attribute, which can map to SQL DATE , TIME or TIMESTAMP . You use the @Type("timestamp") annotation to tell Hibernate that a timestamp converter should be used, which identifies an instance of org.hibernate.type.TimestampType . @Type can also be used to identify custom type converters, which can be defined with @TypeDef at the class level: @TypeDefs( { @TypeDef( na... or with an xml file: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE hibernate-mappi...

Oracle sqlplus command line tools does not support command line editing out-of-the-box. But on Linux there's a handy utility that enables command line editing with any command line tool: rlwrap - readline wrapper. Install rlwrap: $ sudo apt-get install rlwrap Create a keywords file .sql.dict (optional, but convenient): false null true access add as asc begin by chec... It would be nice to add the tables names also. Create an alias for sqlplus (put it in .bashrc ): alias sqlplus='rlwrap -f $HOME/.sql.dict sqlplus'

There are two ways to validate a form with JSF: jsf validation on the page with <f:validate...> tags (for example: <f:validateLength> , <f:validateRegex> , etc.), or JSR303 bean validation. This note is about how to customize messages for JSR303 bean validation. The validation message is specified in the message attribute for each validation annotation type. The mesage attribute is not a literal string, but a string that is interpolated in various ways. For example, the default validation message for AssertFalse is {javax.validation.constraints.AssertFalse.message} , which is replaced with the corresponding string in ValidationMessages.properties (or ValidationMessages_tr.properties , ValidationMessages_es.properties , depending on the locale). This is the contents of ValidationMessages.properties in the hibernate validator reference implementation: javax.validation.constraints.AssertFalse.message =... To customize the messages, just provide the new value in...

By default, tomcat uses an enhanced java.util.logging implementation called JULI, which can be configured at two different levels: Globally, with the ${catalina.base}/conf/logging.properties file. Per web application, with WEB-INF/classes/logging.properties . The configuration file is a normal Java properties file: Logging handlers are specified with the handlers property. handlers = 1catalina.org.apache.juli.FileHandler, ... The root logger can define its set of handlers using the .handlers property. .handlers = 1catalina.org.apache.juli.FileHandler,... A prefix may be added to handler names. The prefix starts with a digit and ends with a dot ( . ), for example: # 1catalina. is a prefix 1catalina.org.apache.j... System property replacement is performed for property values which contain ${systemPropertyName} . Each handler can have its own specific properties: 3manager.org.apache.juli.FileHandler.level = FINE ... Loggers can define their own...

Use the expand command to extract files from a .cab file: expand [-r] source [destination] [-d source.cab ... Option Description [-r] Renames expanded files. [destination] Specifies where files are to be expanded. If source is multiple files and -r is not specified, destination must be a directory. destination can consist of a drive letter and colon, a directory name, a file name, or a combination of any of these. [-d source.cab] Displays a list of files in the source location. Does not expand or extract the files. [-f:files] Specifies the files in a cabinet (.cab) file that you intend to expand. You can use wildcards (* and ?). source.cab Specifies the files to expand. source can consist of a drive letter and colon, a directory...
