Copied verbatim from The GNU C Library Manual . When you have finished using a socket, you can simply close its file descriptor with close ; see Opening and Closing Files . If there is still data waiting to be transmitted over the connection, normally close tries to complete this transmission. You can control this behavior using the SO_LINGER socket option to specify a timeout period; see Socket Options . You can also shut down only reception or transmission on a connection by calling shutdown , which is declared in sys/socket.h . Function: int shutdown (int socket, int how) The shutdown function shuts down the connection of socket socket. The argument how specifies what action to perform: 0 - Stop receiving data for this socket....

#include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #incl... UNIXguide.net explains this option well: This socket option tells the kernel that even if this port is busy (in the TIME_WAIT state), go ahead and reuse it anyway. If it is busy, but with another state, you will still get an address already in use error. It is useful if your server has been shut down, and then restarted right away while sockets are still active on its port. You should be aware that if any unexpected data comes in, it may confuse your server, but while this is possible, it is not likely. It has been pointed out that "A socket is a 5 tuple (proto, local addr, local port, remote addr, remote port). SO_REUSEADDR just says that you...

This is an odd-ball content provider in that it doesn't provide database records, but provides a resource as a stream. It can be used to provide media files or XML resources. Start the project with:

The PHP function strval returns the string value of a variable. It does the same thing as casting a variable to string, or automatic conversion where string is expected.
Conversion rules:
Type String Value
Boolean TRUE '1'
Boolean FALSE '' (empty string)
integer of float string representing the number
Array The string 'Array'
Object Result of __toString() if defined, error otherwise
Resource 'Resource id #n' , where n is a number assigned to the resource.
NULL '' (empty string)
Example:
<?php
set_error_handler(function($errno, $errst...
Results:
bool(true)
---------------------
strval: '1'...

An XML schema is a definition of XML files, in XML. It plays the same role as old-time DTDs. Overall, an XML schema file looks like this:
<schema attributeFormDefault = (qualified | u... The attribute meanings: targetNamespace : The name space targeted by the current schema definition. It can be any URI. id and version : For user convenience, the W3C spec defines no semantics for them. xml:lang : Natural language identifier defined by RFC 3306 . attributeFormDefault and elementFormDefault : Set default values for the form attribute for attribute and element declarations. blockDefault and finalDefault : Set default values for the block and final attributes for attribute and element declarations. The W3C defined some built-in datatypes . Examples of primitive datatypes are: string ,...

This utility class retrieves SSL certificates from the server and print them out to the stdout. The output can be saved to a file and imported to a Java keystore. This is useful in your test environment where the SSL certificate is self-signed.
